The Linda May Han Oh Quintet performed January 20, 2024 at The Century Room @thecenturyroom for the final night of the 2024 Tucson Jazz Festival @tucsonjazzfest.
Oh performed several tracks for the sold-out crowd from her latest album, critically-acclaimed “The Glass Hours,” delicate and progressive works that tackle social issues. Oh, who teaches at Berklee College of Music in Boston and has toured with jazz giants, including Pat Metheny, spent most of her 75-minute set playing the standup bass. On the finale, “The Glass Hours,” she picked up a bass guitar and lent wordless vocals to Sara Serpa’s.
On the evening:
Linda May Han Oh - bass @lindamayhanoh
Sara Serpa - vocals @saraserpamusic
Fabian Almazan - piano @fabian_almazan
Greg Ward - saxophone @fittedphonic
Mark Whitfield Jr - drums @markwhitfieldjr
